Pointes de la Carmélite. Ski tour with UniGe.

20170219_RandoSkiUnige (54) Pointe des Carmélites is a peak in Massive Aravis just next to Pointe Percée. We did the route Pointes de la Carmélite : Depuis le Reposoir.
After passing the small village Chartreuse du Reposoir, we entered the wild valley of Petit Foron. We took the northern slopes leading to this summit of Pointe des Carmélites . The last 30m we did without ski – easy rocks.

Col de Balafrasse/Col du Midi. Ski tour with UniGe.

P1040206Initially the plan was to go to Petit Bargy, but then we arrived we discovered that were was no snow at the start. The next variant was Col de Montarquis. We continued in the direction to Col de la Colombière trying to find some snow. There was avalanches traces everywhere and again no snow. Finally we did Col de Balafrasse (or Col du Midi) from Reposoir. Actually it was even better than our first plan – Bargy. More interesting route.  On the descend the snow was not bad at all – typical soft spring snow, one that I like.

Tête Pelouse. Ski tour with UniGe.

P1040081Nice ski-tour with UniGe to Tête Pelouse par la Combe de Grand Crêt. Finally we have snow. I have broken my ribs 2 days ago, but I could not miss this ski-tour. It was not so bad while we ascending, but getting a bit painful on the skiing down. Nevertheless it did not spoil a fantastic run down and a nice day. La Combe de Grand Crêt is a very popular route and it was skiing a lot. However, we have managed to find an untouched snow.

It is a beautiful region for different alpine activities (ski, climbing, ice climbing, trekking, etc). We came here for ice climbing. Actually, Tarentaise Valley – is a place were we started to do ice climbing 10 years ago with local guide and our friend Benjamin Gaimard.

Salève
